Am I really a tech nerd? No! I'm a tech connoisseur. I remember where I was when I first saw/used Google. At the time I was using something like Lycos. That's when my buddy David showed me Google at his house. Instantly I stopped using all other search engines.

That's one thing I love about Google. They built a killer product (search engine) and then let word of mouth spread the love. They didn't use any advertising. It was such a great engine, they didn't need to.
